Back into the realm of female fronted bands.. Allow me to introduce Paris, a four piece member rock band out of Boston, MA!
I’m quite pleased with another offering of what is normally an over populated style of lighter hardcore. Lead vocalist Lynn is able to deliver a grittier version of Hayley Williams from Paramore but is able to match wits with Flyleaf’s Lacey and Tonight Alive’s Jenna.. Paired with some pretty excellent guitar work throughout the release and a fantastic mix, the group really has plenty going for them..outside of poor name choice which will definitely cause them to get lost among the fold.
The new EP is self-titled and has plenty of memorable moments… My favorite though? Let’s see if you can go back to TATU’s All the Things She Said (was it 95?) and remember the fantastic harmony work between Lena and Yulia. Lynn was able to perfectly hit a similar harmony in their song Only Love which definitely caught my ear! It’s always fun to have a musical flashback in this day and age!
