My favorite band in the entire world is alive. They killed themselves in 2003 following an 8 year career to focus on families, growing older, moving on to bigger and better things, and the entire Christian community respected them for that. I was so happy to attend their final tour stop in Chicago back in 2003 and their music is just incredible.
So for the last 90 days or so they’ve been toying with our MINDS. Random countdowns, scavenger hunts, links going through all their various websites..just pure torture. Until 8:00pm CST today.
Above is their new song. It’s incredible. 8 years in waiting and it’s everything a true fan could have ever wanted. As you can also tell, I’ve posted a few videos below. They officially started a Kickstarter account where they were hoping to raise $30K to record a new CD. I would tell you to donate – but, within an hour, they met the goal. As I’m typing this, they’ve hit $60+K. Guys, it hasn’t even been four hours since they posted. I’m legit blown away. They expected to hit it in 6 weeks. Ha. Try 60 minutes.
Yes, so they have met their goal. BUT, still POST!!! Donate money to a great band so they can tour, do festivals, shows, record more music.. Anything we can do to keep this amazing band alive for as long as we can is totally worth it.
How incredible of a day this is. Yay Five Iron! Yay Christian music! Today is just awesome.
