Sade – No Ordinary Love.
I apologize Sade.. I had no idea that this belonged to you first. And clearly it is so yours; how raw and passionate. Love the chugging background guitar, love the 90s drum beat, love the vocals/harmonies, all of it. Even the mermaid-filled video! haha. What an unbelievable song.
I had actually fallen in love with the track above, performed by the Civil Wars which came off their live CD, Live in Eddie’s Attic. I think they had mentioned right before the above video starts that they didn’t write this track, but perhaps I didn’t pay enough close attention. Anyway, I think they did an incredible cover(outside of a slight piano slip by Joy ~2:15 haha) which I love listening to.
AND IT WASN’T until I heard the above song by Pink’s and Dallas Green’s duo You+Me did I realize something was afoot. Hey! You+Me covered Civil Wars! Hey… that doesn’t make sense – oh! The Civil Wars was a cover too! Oh, who is Sade!? And such was my past Wednesday. From a great cover, I loved tracing the genealogy of this song. I hope you love each of them in turn too.
