Karmin

I feel in love with a video a while back. 

I’d like to introduce Amy and Nick who have done some pretty awesome things covering music on the Youtubez. They formed their own pop-cover group Karmin following their meeting back at Berklee College of Music and have been making sweet music together ever since.

Amy. First of all. Is bad-ass. Takes all of chris brown, busta rhymes and lil wayne like a champ. She has such a different tone of her voice but it always draws me back into the song every couple of weeks. Imagine like, an avril/katy/taylor/nicki voice. The brashness of avril, the tone of katy, the breathiness of taylor, and the rap being completely taken from nicki. Yes! Always a win. Although they it made fairly large on the youtube stage, (and they were aided in their covering by QuestLove from the Roots in some songs!!), most youtube artists just kinda stay there.. So, imagine my surprise that when I heard this song below on the radio yesterday, I was pretty shocked. 

I’m in love with it; not going to lie. And that ‘cherio’ bit? (secs 1:35, 2:39, 2:55, and 3:43). Yes. I counted. It stayed in my head all freakin day and night… So i took a look and their new CD Hello comes out on the 24th of April… I’m going to get it. No doubt. It’s always a good day when pop can rock your world like this.
