Alrighty – while watching an MLS soccer game on Tuesday (Timbers vs. Union!! Exciting to have MLS back on TV).. It reminded me of another fantastic band. I’m incredibly excited to hear more music from in the coming months/years from Brightwood, out of Portland, OR.
As you can tell, their sound is definitely one of their own.. Something I can’t even describe as a mix of several groups combined. If you search for them on iTunes, you can not only find their debut CD Wake, but a number of excellent acoustics songs and some Christmas music as well! They’ve got a great sense to strip their music down and it’s wonderful to hear strings and orchestral symphonies accompany solid rock.
Definitely keep Brightwood on your list of music to listen to in the coming months. They’re certainly on my radar – should be on yours too.
