Dorian’s Decay

Hardcore done correctly is always good in my book. It’s not something that I’ll usually go out and search for, but when certain bands come across my lap and are worth a listen and have a decent mix of the screamo and clean vocals, I most always become a fan. DISCLAIMER: Never count out a good occasional hardcore band from this blog..

That being said, allow me to introduce Dorian’s Decay – a band from my hometown of Glen Ellyn.. Although I’ve known the original bassist  and the lead singer for 8+ years, I think they’ve finally gotten there in terms of musical development, clarity, and their own sound. From starting from basic drop C and drop D guitar riffs they have certainly grown immensely over the last few years.  Although the band has had recent line-up changes, I honestly feel that it’s for the better; new music from guitarist Billy Taylor and Nick Venzon along with constant touring has definitely sparked interest across the states and even among me. I’ve enjoyed following these guys over their past 4(?) year career. Their YouTube channel has a bunch of hilarious videos about a day in the life of the band and their music. Definitely something to keep up with from time to time if you ask me.

Below is the video from their latest CD ‘Alive by My Design’ (their third release)..

My favorite from them is above. Simplicity is always key folks.
