Easycore/Sadboi pop punk/emo rock….? Those were words that I didn’t expect to draft out this morning, but I guess/suppose it works.. I’ve been super feeling the band Good Terms this week out of LA – who had a pretty viral hit with their modern cover of Van Halen’s Jump… (the outro breakdown and toy piano bridge are definitely clutch)..
… and my personal favorite of mine, Cough, which has one of the most fun end of song breakdowns that i’ve heard in a LONG time.
Also just absolutely love the choruses of this song. It’s definitely the intro, but it’s not the heavy breakdown outro (which would have been epic), but this cool little relief in an otherwise pretty busy track – and just absolutely works. And the production is just spot on. Could listen to that outro every day for the rest of my life and be supppper happy.
These guys definitely remind me of Emery the most, one of my top fave bands – these guys aren’t afraid of moving outside of the A/B/A/B/C/B song pattern and their little southern influences on top of this ‘easycore’ is something I can’t say i’ve heard before and I’m just overall very much here for it.
