Falling Up.

If you want some angsty, Christian Rock from the early 2000s, Falling Up will have you covered in spades. I loved these guys’ first two albums – Crashings and Dawn Escapes were in constant rotation whenever I was in a pump up mood.. Fun guitar licks, good tracks, christian messaging… early Jay’s musical tastebuds were 1000% met. I highly recommend a few of the tracks below.

Then one of their guitarists left (and apparently formed a new group – (Archer’s Rise) which I hadn’t heard about till today! so… uh… more on that later if I find it’s good), they dropped another who went on to form The Send (who’s track The Science of the Sky has one my favorite guitar lick intros from their only album, Cosmos, they dropped) and they moved a bit more into the instrumental/pop, indie stream and while continually good music, I just didn’t connect with it as much and let a number of albums pass by, but I still kept up with them. These guys still had some good longevity and really rode the kickstarter-funded album wave and had a solid fan base supporting some continued released for another 10 years.

So, when the news broke that Falling Up was about to release ANOTHER new album (apparently their last?) you could consider myself happy/impressed with these guys. I know the early 2000 rock sound wasn’t going to come back in the way I perhaps wanted/desired, but each album did continue to deliver good tracks and happy to share some just good music and a good artist which brought Jay back to some early Christian roots
