Justin Bieber – Where Are U Now (Skrillex/Diplo)

I never ended up writing a post about Purpose back in January when it was released. I should have – especially due to the fact that I listed to it for almost a month straight haha. It’s an incredible pop album and I one I seriously hope you’ll check out. I was never really a fan of the Biebs before; I enjoyed the hit he had with ‘Baby’ enough and from Believe I had saved Boyfriend and As Long as You Love Me, but most other songs were too juvenile for me to really enjoy.

HOWEVER, with Purpose he had a killer writing team with Skillrex/Diplo/Blood Diamond (others) and goodness those guys made one incredible pop/dance/EDM(ish?) album. You can easily pass over the few piano-ballad heavy tracks and just enjoy the crazy production and ear candy. Justin’s voice is silky smooth and happily flows over everything. I’m not sure if he’s still writing all his lyrics himself, but his melodies are just spot on.

Okay, forget the tracks which are on the radio and you’ve now heard a billion and a half times (except for the first vid I posted Where Are You Now)… Go deeper! Get into the others: No Pressure, Company, No Sense, The Feeling, We Are.. it’s just good pop folks. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

I hate to admit it, but I also have half a mind to go back and checkout that silly concert movie he put out..Never Say Never? I know The Lonely Island just completely parodied it and Spinal Tap with their ‘Popstar’ release (which I also really want to see).. okay, perhaps not.. I’m getting ahead of myself. But still check it out.
