Lianne La Havas
Okay all – Occasionally, I get so obsessed with an artist that I really just listen to them non-stop for a period of a few months, like, head over heels and then forget to tell you all. In short, it’s happened again. I am massively in love with the Lianne La Havas. What an incredible london-born British singer who only began releasing music back in 2012 with her debut ‘Is Your Love Big Enough.’ It took three years for ‘Blood’ to drop; her next CD – both just incredible works.
As I’ve said before on this blog, I don’t usually listen to lyrics all too much when listening to music as it’s more the melody of vocal lines coinciding with the music that really gets me going, but her song “What You Don’t Do” just completely reversed the coin of a typical love song for me that just made me happy with the world. This whole ‘it’s [what you don’t do], it’s [what you don’t say]“ that helps me to know you’re in love with me’ word phrasing just almost shocked me the first time I heard it. So simple to reverse that first-person perspective we’re all familiar with. If there are other examples like this, please just me know, immediately. For now though, enjoy a little more Lianne.
