Snarky Puppy – Shofukan
I found Snarky Puppy several months back and have been waiting for months to tell you all about them. Not that I didn’t realize they were an incredible group, nor did I believe you wouldn’t fall in love with them as much and as quickly as I did, but I wanted to take the appropriate amount of time and go through their entire discography and ensure there wasn’t a single track/ep/album that wasn’t worth listening to.
After several months of listening and re-listening… I’ve happily come to the conclusion that everything these guys have put out is truly incredible. From their earliest albums to what they most recently put-out in Sylva (an album alongside an orchestral symphony), every track has golden nuggets to find and appreciate and stylistically, it’s incredible jazz rock fusion.
Do yourself a favor and listen to everything Snarky Puppy has done to date. Your musical taste-buds will thank you.
