Ever heard of St. Vincent? Perhaps not, but this group defines Annie Clark, the lead guitarist/singer who composes all her band’s material and lyrical content. If you want to listen to music ‘outside the normal relm’ of music today, St. Vincent is definitely the route you’re going to want to take..
Last week we were reading an article in SPIN regarding her new writing process and this gem was found..
“Sometimes I felt like things are going great, and I’m loving this. Some days it was just terrible, I’ll listen and think, this was shit, what was I doing? Sometimes I’ll be in a moment of shame..and then I’ll try this, or maybe this. And then the next day, I’ll think that it’s better than I thought. Feelings aren’t fact.”
I think we’d all do well to remember that last line.. Feelings aren’t fact.. What an awesome statement from the 29 year old..
