No Devotion

No Devotion – Eyeshadow

When I first heard about No Devotion, I was really really hoping for a style of music back to the original Lost Prophets, just with a new great singer like Geoff Rickly of Thursday fame. 

Instead, you get the above.. which I still can’t place whether I truly like it or not. It’s definitely rock – it’s got some of the old LP elements and the emotional energy of Geoff, but you also get some of these electronic moments that I can’t tell if they’re revolutionary or just odd. It’s kinda how I felt about 30STM’s latest effort. It’s clearly good music, and great production but if I found these guys without knowing their musical history, would I have stuck with them? Probably not.
