Kamasi

This short post will entirely not do justice for how much I fell in love with Kamasi Washington’s 2017 Harmony of Difference EP this week. I’ve talked in recent blogs about my recent jazz renaissance and my god, Kamasi is a very welcome addition. Please fall in the love with the below with me..

Look… I didn’t realize I LIKED saxophone-forward jazz… Gotta be Gabi’s saxophoning really
breaking
into my subconscious and rooting down deep 🙂 But seriously, I do think the thing that first caught my ear was how much of the horn sound on this EP really reminded me of Chicago I and Chicago II, which are equally some of my favorite albums with just awesome horn sounds. And knowing my love of ska (I AM NOT ASHAMED, and neither is Jake Perralta for that matter) i guess it’s not a surprise I would hear this first and then upon the re-listens realize I was truly head over heels.

This EP has REACHED one of my top (discovered) albums of the year. I hope you get into it as much as I.
