BUT DADDY SHE’S PROLIFIC

but daddy she’s prolific

Equally, I’m not unashamed to admit time with Taylor’s new one too. It’s just… hard to ignore and frankly, I do view her as a sort of a Madonna of our generation.. Argue with me in the comments if you really disagree. But in sense of a review and sit back and album think, I think my friend said it best:

Lyrically dense af. Not her best but I don’t think that was the point. I think this album is for her. And it’s her processing the last two years the only way she knows how"

I’d agree. It really feels like she had her journal and notes over the last few years (Matt Healy, Joe, Travis, being america’s couple, being yelled at jet flying and spreading that carbon) and phoned Jack up and was like, hey I need to get some stuff off my chest, and he was like, oh hey i have 31 quick melodies, why don’t you just lay them out, no problem, easy peasy, and sure thing let’s do this during the midst of your giant tour, but no matter. We got this.

And then … they just went and did the thing.

It’s impressive. Prolific again. I keep using that word.

There are some really cool moments and great just angry tracks/words (the smallest man who ever lived, the black dog, etc.), and then on the reverse there are songs like, ‘who’s afraid of little old me’ – which I’M PRAYING is some out-of-body track and she’s not being serious “so i leap from the gallows..?” … like you’ve really had to work to rise like a phoenix from the ashes, Taylor?? cause ha.. that’s like, self-aware much? But I digress. It’s insane she can just throw out 31 new songs. And there are good moments within these songs too. Not just all throwaways.

I’m also sorry to all the swifties who now to learn the words to these new songs (and would you not believe that there already several in the hopper for Travis?) but at least some of words are beginning to get more similar over time….
