Lower Than Atlantis – Here We Go
As a kid, I judged books by their covers. So shoot me. I still found some incredible reads and when I found something worthy and that I feel in love with, it always made the search worth it. Books are judged mostly by the content contained between the covers, but why shouldn’t cover art and paneling be considered a critical competent of any novel? I don’t know… I’ve went on a tangent I suppose.
So, as an young adult, I still judge bands by the first few notes I hear. Being a guitar player and singer, it’s really the tone of the guitar and the tone of a voice that can convince me to stay listening to a group longer than 30+ seconds. The above video convinced me to stay listening to this group as I hope it does for you too.
Go find/download/buy their latest self-titled debut, from which the track is featured. I was blown away and it may crack the top 5 album list from this year. They take elements from some of the pop punk greats, mix rock and some seriously delicious elements from post-hardcore and take a vocalist who sings plainly and honest and create an awesome sound.
My favorite from the album is Just What You Need. I don’t expect there to ever be a video for it, but if you find it, and listen to, I hope you’ll understand why its my fave
