When I think of young kids in bands that have found success in the music industry, the only one that really comes immediately to my mind is Emily’s Army which is Billie Joe’s son’s band. Not that I’m not knocking their band at all, but I think if you have a father who is the lead singer of Green Day, the playing field isn’t really that level for you.. and besides, their music just doesn’t get me all that excited.
Of course, this band that I’m about to introduce could be just as privileged and I not know, but it seems pretty incredible that 3 brothers and 1 sister who are all under the age of 20 (Sydney, the lead singer is only 16 and Graham, the drummer is 14!) can be signed to Warner Brothers Music and pop out some INCREDIBLE music like what I’m about to share.
The band is definitely not my usual taste in music. The group names influences such as The Smiths, U2, Joy Division, and Fleetwood Mac, but Sydney’s voice is fantastic and the driving beats of their songs really keeps you interested in what’s coming next. Plus, the music almost takes you back to some early 90s style and class and it is simply happy tunes.
I’m predicting an October debut album release and you can bet I’ll get it day one. I’m super excited about what this band is bringing to the table. Go ahead and pick up the free 3 sampler here
