I just absolutely had a fantastic music discovery party thanks to the gloriousnesses that arise from ‘related videos’ on youtube..
The one that just makes me dance up and down in my chair though is this quirky little group from the UK. In 2009, their music helped secure their (recently formed and very independent) record label a first prime time radio song.. I’ve included that single, Yoko, below:
Although the group broke up about..two months ago now.. (I hate when this happens), I have loved pouring into their music. Really witty and strong lyrics from their vocalist Ed Turner, driving rhythms and pretty mind-invading hooks.
Above is the first song I heard from them, Ribena.. which basically got me hooked in the first place. And don’t judge me, I haven’t fallen in the love with the group only because they were from Manchester (Glory Glory Man United!!), but I really just wanted to make sure these guys were in your music libraries somewhere!
